Eddie Hearn offers returning Tyson Fury a ‘straightforward road’ to blockbuster fight with Anthony Joshua

Eddie Hearn has offered Tyson Fury a “straightforward road” to fighting unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua providing he joins him at Matchroom Boxing.

Fury is set to make his return to the ring this year but remains without a promoter, with Frank Warren believed to be the most likely party to sign him.

If the 29-year-old were to sign for Warren, it would throw into question exactly how a fight between Fury and Joshua would take place, with Hearn previously confirming a fight between the two would not be possible on rival broadcasters BT and Sky Sports.

However, even if Fury were to join Matchroom, it is clear he needs to lower his demands for the Joshua fight, with the former lineal champion previous claiming he wants to be seen as the main draw.

“Eddie Hearn, please stop using my name on a daily basis to build Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker,” he previously tweeted. “You had your choice to make me vs AJ and declined many time. I have already told you it will be on my terms and the split will be 60/40 my end.”

And such demands mean that Hearn is all too aware that signing Fury to Matchroom is unlikely.

“There have been a lot of rumours that he will join up with us. That's not true, as far as I know,” he told Sky.

“We're not close to any kind of agreement. We've had some conversations. I think he's talking to [other promoters] right now.

“If he comes with us, there's a very straightforward road into a lot of heavyweight fights. Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, Tony Bellew.

“Ultimately the grand prize of Joshua because that is a huge fight.”

But first Joshua must take on Joseph Parker on March 31st when he will attempt to further unify the heavyweight division and become the first ever fighter to hold four belts at the same time. Fury meanwhile hopes to return to the ring in the next two months and has recently been sparring Lucas Browne, who boxes Matchroom fighter Dillian Whyte at the O2 later this month.
