Rick Brebant, the Sheffield Steelers forward, will face the Superleague Disciplinary Committee today after appealing against the additional three-game ban he received following the Challenge Cup tie against Manchester Storm.

Brebant was given an automatic five-game ban which was increased by another three "for being reckless" in cross-checking Storm's Shawn Maltby. Brebant's coach, Mike Blaisdell, described the decision as: "One of the craziest I have known. I think that in this case the officials have got it simply wrong."

Scottish Eagles kept their Challenge Cup hopes alive with a 3-2 victory over Manchester Storm, while Bracknell Bees went down 7-4 to Nottingham Panthers – their 19th Superleague game without a win.

Sheffield Steelers maintained their 100 per cent start to the Superleague season with a hard-fought 2-0 home win over London Knights.
