The BBC Sports Personality of the Year award will be named tonight during the awards ceremony at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

The BBC say their prestigious award "goes to the sportsperson whose actions have most captured the public's imagination during 2015."

The shortlist of the 12 contenders was announced last month.

WHAT TIME DOES THE SHOW START?

6.50pm-9pm, BBC 1. Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan are presenting. The event will also be covered on BBC Radio Five Live.

Voting for the main award will be from a shortlist of 12 contenders presented during the live show on BBC 1. Voting will be available by phone or via the BBC website.
