Boxing: Curtis Woodhouse retires flush with British title success
Former footballer Curtis Woodhouse won the British light-welterweight title with a split decision over Darren Hamilton on Saturday – then confirmed his retirement.
Woodhouse, 33, was said to have backed himself at 50-1 when he started as a fighter to win the title. “I can neither confirm nor deny the rumours,” he said, “but the drinks are on me.”
