Boxing: Olympic blow as Derek Mapp goes
Funding for the Olympic boxing team was thrown into disarray when the chairman of the British Amateur Boxing Association was ousted in a boardroom coup.
Derek Mapp was voted off the board in a no confidence motion and his exit after five years in the post will spark a review of the £14m that UK Sport has allocated to the body to prepare for Rio 2016.
The BABA was already on notice to sort out governance issues after in-fighting between the Home Nations, and this development, created by Amateur Boxing Scotland's motion, raises questions about the Olympic pathway followed by fighters such as Audley Harrison and Amir Khan.
