Darts: Anderson makes fast work of Lloyd
Gary Anderson marked himself out as the man to beat with a slick 4-1 win over Colin Lloyd to reach the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace last night. From 2-2 in the first set, Anderson won eight legs in a row, needing only 10 minutes combined to win the second and third sets.
Anderson next faces Simon Whitlock, who has been nursing a broken ankle through the tournament and survived a thrilling comeback from Michael van Gerwen to progress with a 4-3 win.
Dave Chisnall could not repeat his heroics against Phil Taylor as he slipped to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Andy Hamilton.
