Not sure what to watch this weekend? We don't blame you, given that despite it being the first weekend since the end of the domestic football season, there’s a plethora of sport on television.

The action begins on Saturday afternoon in the form of the women’s final at the French Open, and runs all the way until 11pm on Sunday night when the Women’s World Cup match between favourites Germany and Ivory Coast comes to an end.

But which sporting events will clash, and what should you decide to watch? Here, we provide a full guide to the sport on TV this weekend.

Saturday

2pm – Women’s French Open final (ITV and Eurosport)

Serena Williams will be gunning for her third title at Roland Garros and her 20th Grand Slam title of her career, but will have to recover from the flu that she suffered from during her semi-final to be at her best. In her way stands the Czech Republic’s Lucie Safarova, who knocked out Ana Ivanovic in straight sets to reach the final.

4.30pm – Epsom Derby (Channel 4)

Golden Horn will set off as the favourite barring any last-minute surprises for the Epsom Derby. Zawraq was withdrawn from the running on Thursday after falling lame, but Golden Horn will still face the challenge of 11 other runners when they get going on Saturday afternoon. Frankie Dettori will be hoping for a second victory in the Derby, having ridden Authorized to victory in 2007.

6pm – Canadian Grand Prix qualifying (BBC1 and Sky Sports F1)

Can Lewis Hamilton bounce back from his disappointing third place finish in Monaco? The reigning F1 world champion will be bidding for a fourth win around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to pull clear of Nelson Piquet, with only Michael Schumacher having more victories in Montreal to his name. However, Nico Rosberg managed to reduce the gap in the championship to his rival to just 10 points courtesy of his victory in Monte Carlo.

7.45pm – Champions League final: Barcelona v Juventus (ITV and Sky Sports 1)

Berlin’s Olympic Stadium plays host to the Champions League final as Barcelona take on Juventus in the battle to win the fabled treble. Both sides have won the league and domestic cup in Spain and Italy respectively, and victory on Saturday night will see them assert their dominance over the rest of Europe in unquestionable fashion. Despite English interest ending in the last-16, this is definitely not one to be missed.

11pm – Women’s World Cup: Canada v China (BBC3 + Red Button)

The Women’s World Cup gets underway late on Saturday night as hosts Canada take on Group A rivals China at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium. Over 52,000 will turnout for a sell-out attendance, and will hope to see the Canadians get off to a winning start on home soil. Later in the night, New Zealand take on the Netherlands in the other match in Group A.

Sunday

1pm – Republic of Ireland v England (ITV)

Get some sleep, because an old rivalry is renewed on Sunday afternoon when England travel to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland. Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson will hope to generate some momentum before they face Slovenia next weekend, but the Irish will be determined to put one over the English and will not fade away from the challenge in front of their home fans at the Aviva Stadium

3pm – Men’s French Open final (ITV4 + ITV and Europsort)

The final match at Roland Garros will see Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka take on the winner of this evening’s semi-final between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. All three men have proven their pedigree with Grand Slam wins to their name. For Murray, he will be looking to add a third Grand Slam title to his previous victories at Wimbledon and the US Open, but in Djokovic he faces an opponent who he hasn’t beaten in two years.

6pm – Sir Bradley Wiggins world Hour Record attempt (Sky Sports 2)

The four-time Olympic gold medallist takes on the latest challenge in his illustrious career as Sir Bradley Wiggins attempts to break Alex Dowsett’s UCI Hour Record on Sunday at the first attempt. With a Tour de France title and seven Olympic medals under his belt, Wiggins will look to add another record to his name at the Lee Valley VeloPark on Sunday. Wiggins will need to surpass Dowsett’s record distance of 52.937km in the 60 minutes allocated, and he has set himself the target of 221 laps of the 250m track to reach a daunting distance of 55.250km.

7pm – Canadian Grand Prix (BBC and Sky Sports F1)

The seventh round of the 2015 F1 season will get underway at tea time on Sunday as Hamilton and Rosberg renew their rivalry. However, last season Mercedes came unstuck in Montreal, as severe brake problems forced Hamilton to retire and Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo took full advantage to take his first ever race win.

11pm – Women’s World Cup: Germany v Ivory Coast (BBC Three + Red Button)

The two-time World Cup winners and tournament favourites German get their quest to recapture the global crown after seeing Japan win four years ago in their own backyard. Earlier in the day, the first match in Group B sees Norway take on Thailand, with both games taking place at the Lansdowne Stadium in Ottowa.
