Swimming: Third gold for Missy Franklin at World Championships
Missy Franklin decided to give up her attempt on eight gold medals at the World Championships in Barcelona – and was rewarded with her third victory in as many races.
The 18-year-old American held off the challenge of Italy's Federica Pelligrini to win the 200 metres freestyle final, having pulled out of the 50m back semi-final, which was held 20 minutes earlier.
