Cudjoe shows Widnes it is tough at the top

Widnes had a painful lesson in the harsh realities of Super League as they were thrashed 66-6 at Huddersfield in their first away fixture.

The Giants did the damage out wide, with Leroy Cudjoe claiming four tries – one of them a length-of-the-field effort – and Luke George three.

Hull had a long and fruitless trip to the South of France, only for their game at the Catalan Dragons to fall foul of the weather and be postponed because of a frozen pitch.

St Helens inaugurated their new ground, Langtree Park, with a 38-10 win over Salford on Friday night. Although they trailed at half-time, Saints cut loose with six tries in the last half-hour to secure the win.
