Hull sign teenaged Glasgow half-back
Hull have eased their half-back problems by signing an unknown Glaswegian teenager.
Chad McGlame, a 19-year-old scrum-half from Easterhouse Panthers, has been given a one-year contract after trials on Humberside. He has played the game for just four years, most recently in the Co-operative Scottish Conference.
"Chad is a true inspiration to the young people in the east end of Glasgow," said the Panthers' coach, Mark Senter.
As McGlame arrived, Hull were ruing the loss of another 19-year-old half-back. Danny Nicklas, who made his Super League debut last year, has been ruled out for the whole of the coming season with serious knee ligament damage.
Nicklas was injured in last Sunday's pre-season friendly win over Doncaster, his first game since recovering from another injury to the same knee. "He's worked really hard to get back. Danny is shattered," said coach Richard Agar.
