Moore handed a second chance at Headingley

Leeds have re-signed Richard Moore, over a decade after showing him the door at Headingley. The 30-year-old prop, who has spent the last two seasons with Crusaders, has agreed a three-year contract, starting in 2012.

"Richard is a player with huge potential, even though he is 30," said the Leeds coach, Brian McDermott.

Moore was a product of Leeds Academy, but left for Bradford while still in his teens, later playing for Leigh and Wakefield before joining Crusaders. "Once you leave Leeds, you never normally get another chance to play for the club," he said.

Moore's impending departure brings the number of players who have found new clubs since Crusaders announced that they are pulling out of Super League next season close to double figures.

Harlequins have signed up another young local player, who they believe could be a star at Super League level. Kieran Dixon, an 18-year-old full-back from Hemel Hempstead, has yet to make his first-team debut, but Quins' coach, Rob Powell, said: "I haven't seen a more exciting player in the Under-20s this year."

The top two in Super League are in action tomorrow, with Wigan's players having the extra incentive of Wembley places to cement two weeks hence. The Warriors play Salford in a rearranged match.

Most of their Cup final side to face Leeds on 27 August picks itself, but forwards like Lee Mossop, Liam Farrell, Ben Cross and Gareth Hock will be looking to strengthen their claims.

Warrington have just Super League to concentrate upon and they will be expected to extend their already massive advantage in points difference at the expense of Wakefield. "They have a real focus to do well, so it's going to be very difficult for us," admitted the Wildcats' coach, John Kear. He has Glenn Morrison back after a hand injury, and full-back Ryan Tongia making his debut. Warrington are without Lee Briers and Adrian Morley.

Bradford have named hooker Adam O'Brien in their squad to face Hull KR, ahead of Matt Diskin.
