Sam Tomkins kept up his freakish try-scoring record with four more as Wigan cruised past Hull KR into the Challenge Cup quarter-finals with a 46-14 victory at Craven Park yesterday. The full-back has now scored 21 in his last nine games.

Catalan Dragons’ second-row Kevin Larroyer matched his four tries in a 92-8 massacre of Championship club York. Full-back Morgan Escare added a hat-trick in a 16-try romp. There was no joy for the part-timers of Workington either, with Widnes winning 36-0.

Leeds, beaten finalists for the last three years, went out 24-8 to Huddersfield, with the England centre Leroy Cudjoe scoring two spectacular intercept tries. Huddersfield hung on after Joe Wardle was sent off on the hour.

Gareth Ellis scored his first try since returning to England to help Hull into the quarter-finals.

The Test back-rower also set up Richard Horne’s opener as Hull eased to a 24-6 win over Wakefield, with Jay Pitts scoring two of their other tries.

Australian Michael Witt scored a try, four goals and a drop goal as London Broncos beat Bradford 25-16. Halifax lost 28-12 to Sheffield, the only Championship side through, after two tries from Quentin Laulu-Togagae.
