Two tries from US captain Joseph Paulo helped his side record a 32-20 victory against Cook Islands in their opening World Cup match.

In a topsy-turvy encounter, both sides scored two tries in the first half and went in level at 10-10 at the break. Paulo's chargedown try handed his side the initiative in the second half and they eventually wrapped up the victory. The US now face Wales on Sunday, while Cook Islands are next in action against Fiji on Tuesday.
