He will have a scan today that will give a better idea of his chances, while two forwards, Ryan Bailey and Jamie Jones-Buchanan, are also doubtful starters.

Toulouse's success in two countries means that Hull KR will have to wait longer for Justin Morgan to take over as their new coach.

Morgan has to finish his commitments with the French club, who have qualified for their Championship final against UTC on 6 August. In the unlikely event of Toulouse reaching the Challenge Cup final, Rovers will have to wait until September for him to take full control.

Hull will learn today whether Chris Chester and Kirk Yeaman are likely to be fit for their semi-final against St Helens on Saturday. Chester injured his sternum and Yeaman a muscle in his side during the win at Widnes on Sunday.

Huddersfield say they have no plans to announce the signing of the Wigan pair, Stephen Wild and Martin Aspinwall, for next season despite strong rumours linking them with the two players.

Mark O'Halloran is to leave the London Broncos at the end of this season to join the Penrith Panthers in his native Australia.

The Broncos will today announce details of their ground-share from next season with Harlequins. The plan is likely to include a name change for the club.

Leigh, virtually certain of demotion from Super League at the end of this season, have revealed that they do not intend to retain a full-time squad in National League One next season. Their coach, Darren Abram, says that he has been given his budget for next season and that he, too, will be going part-time.

"The club cannot go into debt and it has to work within a tight budget," said Abram, whose team has amassed just five points and could be officially relegated after the next round of Super League matches.
