Seth Rollins utilised his allegiance with The Authority to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship as well as gain revenge over Randy Orton for his defeat at WrestleMania last month, but not without controversy.

In a match that took place in a steel cage and saw the RKO banned as per the stipulations chosen by Orton and Rollins respectively, it was Kane who held the power as he fulfilled the role of 'Guardian of the Gate', although the crowning moment was possibly Orton's Pedigree that he delivered to Rollins, much to the fans' approval.

The Big Red Machine was infuriated when Rollins attempted to land a drop-kick on Orton, only kick the door into Kane, and he responded by climbing up and into the cage - only after chokeslamming J&J Security on the outside of the ring.

Kane appeared to side with The Authority though as he chokeslammed Orton, but then he turned on Rollins and delivered the same fate. However, Kane would place Rollins on Orton for the pin, only for the Viper to kick out and deliver an RKO to Kane.

But ever the opportunist, Rollins hit Orton with a surprise RKO of his own and crawled out of the ring to retain the WWE World Heavyweight title.

Earlier in the night, John Cena defeated his long-time rival Rusev in a WrestleMania rematch that saw the two power-houses clash in a Russian Chain match. In a match that requires either man to touch all four corners in succession while tied together via a steel chain, it was Rusev who looked the more dominant as he combined a number of strikes and kicks to keep Cena from reaching his A-game.

However, after an altercation with Lana which saw him send her away from the ring, Cena took full advantage, and after both men had touched three corners each, Cena landed the Attitude Adjustment before touching a fourth corner and retaining his United States Championship.

Not long after, Lana revealed that the pair will fight (again) in an ‘I Quit’ match.

Roman Reigns was able to gain revenge for being chokeslammed on to the roof of a London taxi by the Big Show as he prevailed in their Last Man Standing match. In a to-and-fro match that saw kendo sticks, tables (lots of tables) and the steel steps utilised, it looked like Reigns had done enough to win when he speared Big Show through the Spanish announcers’ table.

But after Show managed to get back to his feet, Reigns used his brain rather than brawn, and pinned the Big Show under the table to gain the win as he could not return to his feet before the count of 10.

The most frantic match of the night undoubtedly came in the Chicago Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper. After a painful opening that saw Ambrose attack Harper with numerous kendo stick shots and Harper respond by throwing the Lunatic Fringe into anything and everything, the pair disappeared from view when they sped off in a car at the hands of Harper.

Two fights later, the pair suddenly returned during a Renee Young interview with New Day (more on them later), and when Harper delivered a powerbomb to Ambrose on a chair, it seemed he had done enough for the win.

But Ambrose would kick out, and after being buried under a pile of chairs, he threw Harper on said chair mountain and hit dirty deeds for the victory in what was a ridiculous yet brilliant match.

The bizarre match of the night saw Dolph Ziggler come out on top in his ‘Kiss Me Arse’ match with Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior was on top for the duration of the fight, with the loser having to pucker up and do exactly what was match name said. However, it was Ziggler who rolled Sheamus up for a surprise victory, and immediately pulled down his draws for Sheamus to assume the position. He did, only to deliver a low blow to Ziggler, and thrust the Showoff’s face into his own rear-end.

New TagTeam champions were crowned as The New Day team of Kofi Kingston and Big E defeated the Brass Ring Club of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. In the end it was Kingston who used underhand tactics to secure the titles, and he rolled up Cesaro and held his tights to get the three-count.

Nikki Bella retained her Divas Championship by defeating Naomi, with obvious help from her twin sister Brie Bella. With the referee distracted, Brie nails Naomi with a kick and sets Nikki up to deliver the Rack Attack for the victory. In the pre-show, Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan was forced to pull out of the match against Bad News Barrett which will do nothing to allay the rumours that he may still be suffering from the neck injury that ruled him out for the latter part of 2014, with Newcastle’s high-flying Neville taking his place in the match, with The Man That Gravity Forgot landing the Red Arrow for victory over his British rival.
