Scottish sensation Booth eagles for play-off win

Scottish teenager Carly Booth recorded an eagle on the fourth extra hole to win the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open following a three-way play-off yesterday.

Booth overcame the challenge of German duo Anja Monke and Caroline Masson to win her second title in six weeks after collecting the first of her career last month.

A delighted Booth, who turns 20 on Thursday, said: "I'm overwhelmed; speechless. I'm lost for words; so happy."

Booth carded a 68 in her final round to finish level with Monke (66) and Masson (68) on 12-under for the tournament in Ticino.

All three players then birdied the par-five 18th hole three times each in the play-off before Booth finally clinched the victory and a £63,330 first prize with a 10ft eagle putt.

"It was tough. I was thinking, someone's going to have to eagle to win this. I hit a perfect drive every time and then a five-iron on to the green to about 10ft and just holed it so it was perfect," Booth said.
