Lewis Hamilton started from pole position in Barcelona as he looked to win the Spanish Grand Prix and end team-mate Nico Rosberg's run of seven consecutive victories.

• Hamilton and Rosberg crash on the first lap

Hello and welcome to our coverage of today's Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth race of the season in what has been a run of dominance for Nico Rosberg so far this season. Rosberg has won all four grand prix, but Lewis Hamilton will hope to kick-start his fightback this afternoon and he starts from pole in his bid to win a first race since Austin last season.

Lap 44: Ricciardo is in for his final stop, and he releases Verstappen into the lead while himself dropping down to fourth.

Lap 45: Now this is interesting. None of the top four have to pit again, and the state of lay is this: Verstappen leads Raikkonen by just one second, with both on mediums that will be 31 laps old at the end of the race. Vettel is third, 7.9 seconds behind the leader, with Ricciardo an additional seven seconds further back. Both Vettel and Ricciardo are on younger tyres though.

Lap 47: Alonso's McLaren has lost all power at turn three, and he's parked it on the inside of the corner next to an exit point. That should prevent a safety car, but the Spanish crowd a certainly disappointed to see the home favourite out of the race.

Lap 51: With 15 laps remaining, Raikkonen is closing massively on Verstappen. However,t he Red Bull is mighty out of the final corner and it means that Raikkonen can't catch him before the first turn every with the DRS. Ricciardo is bringing himself into play too, and he's just 1.6 seconds behind Vettel with the gap to the top two around 8.8 seconds.

Lap 56: There's two fierce battles unfolding here. Ricciardo is all over the back of Vettel, and up ahead it's the opposite as Raikkonen is glued to the gearbox of race leader Verstappen. We could be just 10 laps away from an 18-year-old winning his first Grand Prix in his maiden race for Red Bull. Crikey...
