Rio 2016: Team GB guaranteed fourth cycling gold as Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner secure all-British final

The two Britons overcame their respective competitors in the sprint semi-finals and will face off against one another on Sunday

Great Britain are guaranteed a fourth gold medal in the Olympic Velodrome on Sunday after Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner advanced to the final of the men's sprint.

Their achiement follows the women's team pursuit who won a third gold on the track late on Saturday night while Becky James took silver in the Keirin.

Skinner and Kenny, who won team sprint gold on Thursday, now advance to an all-British final which reaffirms the dominance of Britain's cycling team in the Velodrome.

It wasn't an easy affair for Kenny though who needed all three bouts to beat Denis Dmitriev of Russia in his semi-final.

It was a different story for the young Callum Skinner who breezed past Australia's Matthew Glaetzer, winning 2-0 to advance to the final.

Kenny is the current Olympic sprint champion after winning four years ago in London where he beat France's Gregory Bauge to the gold medal.

He faces tough compeition from fellow teammate Skinner though who burst onto the cycling scene two years at the 2014 British National Track Championships where he won a clean sweep of four national sprint titles.

Whoever wins on Sunday, it's more cycling success for Team GB.
