Prince of Wales’s Stakes: Victory for Frankie Dettori on Treve can make up for missing Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

Frankie Dettori has enjoyed many ups and endured many downs since riding his first Royal Ascot winner back in 1990, the frustration of missing out on winning last year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Treve due to injury definitely one of the low points.

However, the ebullient Italian will not be dwelling on what cannot be undone this week, especially if he can steer the marvellous Treve to victory in Wednesday's Prince of Wales’s Stakes. She is a good thing on form.

Mustajeeb proved no match for Kingman in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, but has much less on his plate in the Jersey Stakes and is expected to appreciate the drop to seven furlongs.

Ireland’s Anthem Alexander and US challenger Spanish Pipedream will be serving it up to the home contingent in the Queen Mary Stakes, but Richard Hannon’s Tiggy Wiggy is a bit slick, too, and may well see them off from her stands rail draw.

An each-way pick from each side of the track for the always brutal Royal Hunt Cup: the low-drawn Prince Of Johanne, who won the race two years ago, and the high-drawn Burano, who is due a change of luck.
