Championship semi-finalists Bristol, Worcester and Rotherham have satisfied minimum standards criteria for Aviva Premiership entry next season.

If one of them wins the Championship title this season, they will replace London Welsh in the top flight.

The three have been given the green light by the Rugby Football Union for home grounds at Ashton Gate, Sixways and Barnsley’s Oakwell Stadium, respectively. London Scottish, who are also in the play-offs, did not apply for the audit.

The semi-finals begin on Saturday, with Scottish tackling Worcester and Andy Robinson’s Bristol facing Rotherham over two legs. The home and away final is scheduled for May 20 and 27.

Worcester set a new Championship record for tries this season (122), as well as points scored (858). They also had the best defensive record (335 points conceded). And last Saturday’s 10,795 attendance at Sixways for the Bristol game was a record for a domestic Championship match.
