Leicester kept alive their chances of finishing top of Pool Five by beating Treviso 34-19.

They trailed 13-8 at half-time but two Miles Benjamin tries and a penalty try secured the bonus-point win. They play Ulster in their final pool game but both sides are guaranteed a quarter-final place.

Exeter coach Rob Baxter will use the last round of the pool stage of the Heineken Cup as a training exercises after their 15-10 loss against Glasgow at Sandy Park put them bottom of Pool Two. The home side were 10-0 up during the first half, but Glasgow rallied with tries from Sean Maitland and Sean Lamont to give them hope of qualification for the Amlin Challenge Cup, which they will achieve with a win over Toulon next week.

Baxter said: “I don’t think that there was a lot left in the Heineken Cup for us, other than an outside chance of getting through to the Amlin.”
