The Munster head coach Tony McGahan believes the two-time Heineken Cup winners can take plenty of positives from making it through to the quarter-finals of the competition for a 13th time on Saturday.

Munster made it five consecutive wins in Pool One by beating Castres 26-10 in unconvincing fashion at Thomond Park. They will complete their programme of pool games against Northampton on Saturday, knowing victory would secure a precious home quarter-final. McGahan believes Northampton will be out for revenge after they were beaten by his side in November, courtesy of Ronan O'Gara's last-gasp drop goal.

"They made their thoughts well-known when they left here [Thomond Park]," McGahan said. "I think the way they have attacked the Aviva Premiership and the Heineken Cup games, we are certainly in for a great battle."

Bath's disappointing campaign continued as they slumped to their fourth defeat in five matches this season after going down 24-22 to Montpellier. Bath had looked set for victory as two tries from lock Ryan Caldwell helped put them 22-17 ahead going into the final minute, but Montpellier snatched their first-ever Heineken Cup win when Timoci Nagusa went over for a converted try.

A spirited Connacht side made Toulouse battle all the way before the reigning French champions eventually sealed a bonus-point win in Pool Six. In Pool Four, Clermont Auvergne hammered Aironi 82-0, running in a dozen tries to keep their hopes of a quarter-final berth alive.
