O'Sullivan made eight changes for the 55-6 victory over the United States in order to give his fringe players a run-out, but will field his strongest available line-up for the match against the Pumas, who will be full of confidence after their 24-14 victory over France. The Wasps flanker Jonny O'Connor returns at open side to win his second cap, keeping Denis Leamy - who impressed against the Eagles - out of the squad, although his inclusion is subject to a fitness test on his knee.

O'Sullivan said: "O'Connor picked up a knock in training yesterday but his recovery has been good and we expect him to be fit for Saturday."

Five of the threequarter line are supplied by Leinster with the midfield partnership of Brian O'Driscoll and Shane Horgan linking up once again following their heroics against the Tri-Nations champions. Munster's Ronan O'Gara and Peter Stringer take the half-back duties while Leicester's Geordan Murphy is switched from full-back to right wing.

South Africa have made seven changes to the side who lost 32-16 to England for Saturday's match against Scotland.

The flankers Schalk Burger and A J Venter, the prop Eddie Andrews, the winger Breyton Paulse and the centre De Wet Barry have been rested while the winger Jean de Villiers was not considered because of an ankle injury. The prop Gurthro Steenkamp and the flanker Solly Tyibilika will win their first caps while the wing Bryan Habana, who scored a try as a replacement against England, will make his first Test start.
