Wimbledon 2013: Andy Murray's potential path to glory

The route British number one will have to take if he is to claim Wimbledon title

Andy Murray will face Germany’s Benjamin Becker on Monday in the first round of the 2013 Wimbledon tournament, and should he come through the tie, he could set-up an all-British second round clash with James Ward.

The British number two takes on Yen-Hsun Lu of Taiwan, and victory would see the 26-year-old meet Murray for the first time at Wimbledon in what would really attract the attentions of the home crowd early on in the tournament.

Should Murray progress to the third round, he can expect to meet 32nd seed Tommy Robredo, and a fourth round clash with fourteenth seed Janko Tipsarevic could await Murray if he progresses.

Then things get really serious as he should come up against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, having beaten the Frenchman just last week on his way to the Aegon Championship title.

If all goes according to plan, Murray will face either third seed Roger Federer in the semi-final, or the French Open winner Rafael Nadal.

And finally, should Murray go all the way, he is likely to meet world number one Novak Djokovic on Sunday July 7, as he seeks to claim his first Grand Slam on home soil having already claimed the US Open last year.
