Josh Gordon has had his ban for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy reduced - but the Cleveland Browns wide receiver will continue to work as a car salesman.

Gordon was initially banned for 16 games, the entire 2014 season, but has seen his suspension reduced to 10 games under the NFL's revised policy.

Earlier this month Gordon, who made the Pro Bowl as the league's best receiver last season, announced he would work as a goodwill ambassador for the Sarchione Auto Group in Randolph, Ohio; it was announced he would work in "all aspects" of the business, including shifts as a salesman on the main sales floor.

"He's still going to be with us, but obviously his schedule is going to change," car dealership owner Alex Sarchione told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

"We kind of talked about it this week when we knew the suspension was going to be changing."

"We've always told everyone that he is a football player," Sarchione added. "Football is a main part of his life. We want him out there as much as any Browns fan doing what helps his career.

"But he is committed to us, too. We haven't figured out how the schedule is going to work, but he's been here from morning to close, it's not like he comes in an hour and leaves."

Gordon is yet to sell his first car, but according to reports has arrived early and stayed late as he bids to stay out of trouble.

The 23-year-old will be available for the clash against the Houston Texans on 16 November.
