British NFL fans are travelling to the US to watch the Super Bowl in droves, according to ticket marketplace StubHub.

The website has revealed a 60 per cent increase in demand for tickets to see the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off in Arizona, compared to the game last year.

Overall figures show that sales are also up 91 per cent across the US, meaning it could be one of the highest selling Super Bowls ever.

Regular season games at Wembley appear to have driven the increased interest in the sport, with the website also seeing a 42 per cent increase in demand for next year's matches in comparison to those that took place a few months ago.

The Independent will have live coverage of the Super Bowl from 11pm on Sunday night.
