One of the NFL’s best offences will take on one of the league’s best defences when these to AFC South rivals meet in Houston.

The Colts and the Texans appear to be duking it out for top spot in their division with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans not looking like play-off contenders through the first five weeks of the season.

The Texans, led by $100m defensive end JJ Watt, have already won three games, more than they managed in the entire season last year. Watt is the undoubted star of this team and has a team leading two sacks, but his ability to cause pressure and mismatches on every play means Hosuton can run a variety of defensive packages.

Last week against the Cowboys they blew a big lead to allow state-rivals Dallas to win in overtime, but the Texans are far removed from the woes of last year. Ryan Fitzpatrick may not be the best quarterback in the league but he has been a marked improvement on Matt Schaub and does enough to put the Texans in a position to win, with Arian Foster back to his best averaging over 100-yards rushing per game.

For the Colts this season has been all about the play of quarterback Andrew Luck. The 25-year-old a superstar in the making and leads the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns for Indianapolis to lead the league in points scored along with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After two close losses in the opening weeks the Colts have now won three in a row and will be looking to complete a third win over a divisional rival.

The Watt vs Luck match-up will decide the outcome of this game.
