Former NBA star Ray Allen has decided to give away some of the pairs of shoes he used during an illustrious career.

But rather than sell them, the 10-time All-Star has been leading fans on an Easter Egg-style hunt in Hertford, Connecticut.

Allen, 39, is regarded as one of the best shooters in NBA history and won two titles in a brilliant 19-year career, one with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and then in 2013 with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

While cleaning his wardrobe, Allen came across stacks of shoes he had worn during his career and opted to give them away, leaving hints about where he had left various pairs.

Here's how Allen allowed his fans to find themselves a bit of NBA history:

Allen is also known for his impressive performance alongside Denzel Washington as Jesus Shuttleworth in Spike Lee's 1998 film He Got Game.
