Age: International Management Center at the University of Warsaw, School of Management was established in 1990, School of Management in 1971, and the University in 1816.

History: Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA program is run jointly at the International Management Center (IMC) by The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and the University of Warsaw (Poland). The IMC itself was established in 1990 however it is a department within the School of Management at The University of Warsaw which was established in 1971. The International Management Center is dedicated to executive education and major area of its operations is Executive MBA. IMC offers executive trainings and programs like PreMBA that prepares future candidates to undertake executive MBA.

Address: The venue of our EMBA is located in the very heart of Warsaw, just by the Warsaw Stock Exchange Building, Sheraton Hotel, 10 minutes by tram from Warsaw Railway Central Station and half an hour from the airport (by taxi).

Ambience: The school is located in the very heart of city, close to trendy Three Crosses Square, place of many cafes and restaurants as well as some of the most exclusive shops in Warsaw. They are just five minutes' walk from the house of Polish parliament and about 10 minutes walk from Royal Gardens of ?azienki. Theaters, cinemas, bars and cafes as well as clubs, are all within a short distance from our venue.

Vital statistics: The program consists of 600 contact hours plus at least another 600 hours for teamwork and individual preparation to the classes. It last three semesters: starts in September and last until the second week of December the following year.

Easy to get into? The school demands at least three years of experience (managerial is preferred), master degree from Polish institutions or at least BA from recognized institutions around the world (to be verified in the recruitment process). The course is taught in English so students are required to take an internal English exam or a proof of TOEFL examination. Candidates have to take logic and math exam plus an interview.

International connections: The program is run jointly by The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and The University of Warsaw. Classes take place in Warsaw (Poland) and there is also international module in Chicago and Urbana-Champaign (Illinois).

Glittering alumni: Over 800 graduates, who have influenced the Polish economy and in part helped to be the only one in Europe having positive GDP growth on a yearly basis.

Gurus: On Polish side, Prof. Krzysztof Ob?ój – one of the most prominent writers and consultants in Strategic Management in Poland and Easter Europe, Prof. Alojzy Nowak, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the President of the National Bank of Poland and member of the Supervisory Board of the biggest Bank in Poland – PKO BP S.A., Prof. Robert Rz?dca – one of the most prominent experts in negotiations in Poland and Dr. Mieczys?aw Grudzi?ski – expert in Finance, who was involved in the first IPOs to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Student profile: Basic statistics: Average age: 36 yrs (range 28-55), 67 per cent at the top management positions (Management Board or director level), they come from Telecom / IT, Banking and Finance, Production and Pharmaceutical industries (80 per cent of all students on average), they are Polish (90 per cent) and other (10 per cent), average we have 15 per cent of women.

Cost: Detailed information according tuition for Cohort XX (2011/12) will be available in March 2011.
