New 'Assassin's Creed' in November, 'Mass Effect 3' now 2012

Assassin's Creed: Revelations heads for the ravaged glories of medieval Constantinople this November, while Mass Effect 3 warps into early 2012.

Revelations will see Ezio, the main character from Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood, travel to Constantinople as an older man, tracing a route taken by ancestor Altaïr (introduced in Assassin's Creed).

There'll be a new piece of equipment, the hookblade, and a new version of Brotherhood's cat-and-mouse multiplayer.

Followers of the Mass Effect games will have to wait a while longer than previously expected for Mass Effect 3.

Commander Shepard's quest to save the galaxy lands him (or her, depending on user choice) in a spot of bother back on Earth, just in time to witness an alien invasion.

First pegged for the close of 2011, the action-adventure's return is now scheduled for the first few months of 2012 instead.

Other upcoming releases recently announced include the remastered Sega Saturn game Guardian Heroes as an Xbox 360 download (September-November), while Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is imminent, having been given a May 10 go-ahead (May 13 in Europe).
