This is not a pretty spot; it's on the edge of the main road that runs from town to the northern parishes of Trinity and St John. However, the shops of the capital are walkable if you can face the steep hill on the way back, and there's also a regular bus. People's Park and the main seafront at the Esplanade are a 20-minute walk away.

By plane: flights from London Heathrow to Jersey take around one hour. The hotel is a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport.

By boat: ferries to St Helier run from Poole (4 hours) and Portsmouth (10 hours 20 minutes). Book boats.

Walk into the stylish bar and you'll be greeted by a bold colour palette of turquoise and burnt orange. In the restaurant, pictures of neon and Jersey cows hang on feature wallpaper; elsewhere there's exposed brickwork and mirrors. It's eclectic but fun, and the walls of the corridors are lined with artwork.

Although the facilities are somewhat limited given the small size of the hotel, the staff are enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay more enjoyable. Reception staff can perform concierge services and help you make restaurant reservations or book boat trips.
