Good morning Vietnam

Hoi An is one of Vietnam’s most atmospheric cities, offering the chance to spend mornings browsing the tailors shops, afternoons on the beach, and evenings dining in traditional restaurants overlooking the harbour. Travelbag has a week’s B&B here at the River Beach Resort for £729pp, including China Southern flights from Gatwick for travel until 31 March. Book by 31 January (travelbag.co.uk).

Drive time

For those keen to keep costs down on a trip to New Zealand, Austravel is offering a 13-night fly-drive for £895pp. The price includes Apollo motorhome hire – which doubles as your accommodation – along with Emirates flights from Heathrow to Auckland via Dubai for travel in May, when the Southern Hemisphere autumn will be in full swing. Book by 31 January (austravel.com).

Emirate escape

Ease the January blues with a three-night trip to Dubai. Virgin Holidays has a package that will whisk you over to the emirate for £892pp, with Virgin Atlantic flights from Heathrow and five-star accommodation at the Atlantis hotel on The Palm development, with half-board meals (virginholidays.co.uk).

Double helping

Premier Holidays has a twin-centre trip to Malaysia for £1,419pp. Valid for travel between 1 February and 31 March, the holiday combines three nights in Kuala Lumpur at the Swiss Garden Hotel, with a week in Borneo at the Nexus Resort in Kota Kinabalu. Breakfast is not included, but private transfers, connecting flights and Malaysia Airlines flights from Heathrow are (premierholidays.co.uk).
