White Christmas

Ski Europe has a range of departures that will take you to the slopes for Christmas. Highland Hogmanay

Wilderness Scotland has the chance to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Highlands. The three-night package costs £525pp starting from 30 December, with B&B at the The Boat Hotel in the heart of the Cairngorms, a champagne dinner on the first night and a five-course Hogmanay gala for the main event, followed by a bucks fizz breakfast and a bracing guided walk around the park on New Year's Day (wildernessscotland.com).

Beach bliss

For something a little warmer, consider a week in Bali. Vintage vacation
