Show off to your date at Japanese theme park by beating up bad guys

A Japanese theme park is offering its guests the chance to “show off” to their dates and friends by winning in a fake fight against pretend bad guys.

Hirakata Park in Osaka invites visitors to hire actors to start a fight with them as they walk around the attraction, from which they emerge as the victor - which they suggest is attractive.

A video promoting the service shows a man and a woman strolling through Hirakata Park, when two men wearing bomber jackets and sunglasses grab her by the shoulder. Her partner then pretend-punches one of the men, causing the “bad guys” to flee in fear. The show lasts around 10 minutes, according to the website, but doesn’t run if it’s raining.

To make sure the staging runs without fault, guests must attend a training session to learn how to fake punch. Customers are also reminded not to accidentally tell their date about the surprise, or forget the agreed meeting place to ensure the plan has maximum impact, according to Kotaku.com.

If gratuitous violence isn’t how you like to show off your masculinity, Hirakata Park offers other packages where guests defuse a fake bomb, swap bodies with a stranger or offer their blood to someone who urgently needs a transfusion.

Opened in 1910, Hirakata Park is the oldest amusement park in Japan. So that might explain why they seem to have run out of normal ideas.
