Relief for Air France and TAP passengers - but BA heads towards another strike

British Airways staff are once again set to stage a four-day walk out this weekend, although the airline says that it will be able to fly more than 75 percent of passengers.

The strike is set to affect flights from midnight March 26 to March 30.

A normal schedule is expected to operate to and from London City and Gatwick airports, whilst 70 percent of long-haul flights from Heathrow will operate. Fifty-five percent of shorthaul flights from Heathrow will operate.

Passengers who were due to travel on a cancelled flight should not go to the airport, says the airline.

Portuguese airline TAP confirmed earlier this week that a strike by its cabin crews between March 26 and 31 would be called off.

Air France has also said that it expects to run a normal service this weekend after cabin crew unions cancelled a strike planned for March 27-28.

German carrier Lufthansa is also set to be hit by a four-day pilot walkout from April 13. The announcement follows the unions' February walkout which affected two-thirds of the airline's 800 daily flights and caused chaos at German airports.
