Showtime in Broadway

Dormy House, the 17th-century Cotswolds farmhouse in Broadway, has reopened following an extensive refurbishment. A spa will follow in January ( dormyhouse.co.uk).

Richard Branson's domestic airline, Little Red, has announced a series of surprise comedy and music gigs on flights between Heathrow, and Edinburgh and Manchester. The line-up for Little Red Live will be published soon via the Virgin Atlantic facebook and twitter pages, though the flight details will remain secret.

The price, in sterling, of Martin Randall's new tour around the Renaissance gardens and villas of Rome and the Lazio countryside. The six-day trip departs 12 May 2014, with flights, hotels and meals included ( martinrandall.com).

Snow ball

Tickets are now on sale for Snowbombing, the winter festival which takes place in the Austrian resort of Mayrhofen from 7-12 April 2014 with five mountain stages. The line-up is yet to be announced, but last season's featured Kasabian and Carl Cox. Five-night packages start at £319 ( snowbombing.com).

River wild

The MV Anakonda is a new luxury river boat that has just launched in the Ecuadorian Amazon with 18 suites. Itineraries range for four to eight days ( anakondaamazoncruises.com).

Mandela moments

The Samara Game Reserve is offering a "Mandela Landscapes" itinerary around South Africa's Eastern Cape. The seven-night trip will visit the village where the revolutionary was born and key Apartheid sights ( samara.co.za).

The Salcombe Harbour Hotel & Spa has reopened following a multi-million pound refurbishment. The new head chef, Alex Aitken (ex-Lime Wood), will preside over the Jetty Restaurant and Crustacean Bar. There's also a pool, cinema room and spa ( salcombe-harbour-hotel.co.uk).
