Katherine Ryan tells All That Glitters contestant to think like a 'straight white man'

Comedian Katherine Ryan has prompted complaints to the BBC after she told a Sri-Lankan born contestant on All That Glitters to “think like a white man”.

Giving contender Tamara some words of encouragement Ryan said: “You need to really back yourself... Do you know how confident a straight white man would be right now?

“Think about Boris Johnson - how pleased he’d be with himself right now. He’d be like, ‘nailed it’.

“Sometimes we have to think like these men.”

In a statement, the BBC said: “We can assure you, we never set out to offend ciewers with anything we show.”
