Chilean astronomer witnesses stunning total solar eclipse from Antarctica

Chilean astronomer Patricio Rojo witnessed a total solar eclipse from Antarctica on Saturday, setting up camp in the snow to observe the unforgettable moment.

According to Nasa, Antarctica was the only location where the total eclipse could be seen and stunning footage shows the event turning the bright sky into dusk for almost two minutes as the moon covers the sun.

AP reports that personnel from the Chilean Air Force operating at the Joint Scientific Polar Station recorded the event, which drew attention from all over the world.
