US toddler found after being caught up in carjacking

A three-year-old toddler was found abandoned in a car park after a thief stole a car with the child still inside.

Police found Caraline Leon-Alocar in the car park of an Albuquerque supermarket five hours after the stolen vehicle was discovered.

Officer Chris Poccia, who found Caraline, told the press how he stopped his car after seeing 'a ball of purple' in an empty car park.

“I was using my spotlight and I saw a ball of purple in the middle of the parking lot and I thought that weird,” the Albuquerque PD officer said.

“I’ll be honest , on my way home I started crying too. I was just very happy and thankful that we were able to find her.

“I can’t even imagine what the animal who did this was even thinking.”
