You've got to hand it to Americans, they do love them some democracy.

With reports of voter turnout exceeding the 2008 elections in some states, there were a lot of voting heroes in the 2012 presidential elections, but the greatest of them all must surely by Galicia Malone from Dolton, Illinois. The 21-year-old new mother made sure she got to the polling booth to vote for Obama, even after her waters had broken. Bust magazine certainly thought so, they named Malone their 'Badass of the Day'.

And what a lovely example for her new daughter, born on the day that Barack Obama was elected for a second term as President. "I wanted this to be a stepping stone for my daughter," she said.
