  • The Booker Prize 2025 shortlist has been announced, featuring six novels praised for pushing narrative boundaries through classical storytelling.
  • The selection highlights works by experienced authors, many of whom have published several novels and spent decades honing their craft.
  • Three authors, Kiran Desai, Andrew Miller, and David Szalay, are returning to the shortlist, while American writers Susan Choi, Katie Kitamura, and Ben Markovits make their debut.
  • Roddy Doyle, chair of the judges, stated that the chosen novels explore the individual's interactions with others, describing them as both brilliantly written and profoundly human.
  • The winning book will be revealed at a ceremony in London on Monday, 10 November 2025, with the victor receiving £50,000 in addition to the £2,500 awarded to all shortlisted authors.
