  • The comedy actor “was aching to do other things”, with a recent dramatic portrayal of Jim Balsillie in 2023 film Blackberry.
  • He suggested ending the series, but his co-stars, including creator Rob McElhenney, opted to continue.
  • McElhenney confirmed that Howerton has attempted to leave the show on multiple occasions but was always written back into the script.
