- Developed by Birmingham-based Threewise Entertainment, the production aims to blend heartfelt storytelling, comedy, and music, while remaining faithful to the classic show's spirit.
- The project has secured investment from Creative UK and is being developed in close collaboration with the estates of original creators Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate.
- The story for the film was approved by Postgate's son, Daniel Postgate, before his death, with the film currently scheduled for release in 2027.
