EastEnders star filled with ‘gratitude’ as he returns to soap
Anthony Trueman returns to EastEnders
EastEnders actor Nicholas Bailey reprised his role as Dr Anthony Trueman in Monday night's episode, 22 years after his official departure from the BBC series.
Bailey expressed "gratitude" for the opportunity to "revisit a career-defining character" and reconnect with former colleagues.
He originally debuted as the Albert Square medic in December 2000 before leaving as a full-time cast member in 2003, with brief returns in 2004, 2005, and 2014.
Ahead of his comeback, Bailey shared an Instagram photo of his 2003 leaving gift, an Albert Square road sign signed by co-stars.
His return follows Michelle Ryan's reprisal of the role of Zoe Slater in June.
