Fans flood Eric Dane with support as he launches ALS initiative
Eric Dane has lost the function of his right arm
Actor Eric Dane, known for his roles in Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, has partnered with I Am ALS to raise funds for research into the incurable neurodegenerative disease.
Dane, 52, who publicly revealed his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis in April, appeared in an Instagram video for the foundation.
He launched the 'Push for Progress' initiative, which aims to raise US $1 billion over the next three years to accelerate a cure and provide promising treatments.
In the video, Dane's speech was noticeably slurred, a common symptom of ALS, which progressively affects nerve cells and muscle movement.
Fans have flooded the Instagram comment section with words of support, with some expressing shock at how quickly his condition is deteriorating.
