Iconic designer Giorgio Armani died on Thursday at the age of 91 at his home in central Milan.
Hundreds of admirers and VIPs gathered in Milan on Saturday for a public viewing at the Armani Theater to pay their final respects.
Milan's mayor, Giuseppe Sala, remembered Armani as "a man of extraordinary elegance" who left an indelible mark on the city and global fashion.
Mourners, including Donatella Versace, attended the solemn viewing, which featured candles, piano music, and a coffin adorned with white roses.
A photo of the designer was projected on the viewing chamber with the words: “The mark I hope to leave is one of commitment, respect and genuine care for people and for reality.”
