Apple TV+ has postponed the release of Jessica Chastain's new series, The Savant, which features her as an investigator infiltrating online hate groups.
The show, originally scheduled for 26 September, has been delayed to an unspecified future date, reportedly due to concerns over its subject matter following the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
Jessica Chastain publicly expressed her disagreement with Apple's decision, stating on Instagram that she and the company are “not aligned” on the postponement.
She highlighted the increasing relevance of the show's themes, citing various acts of violence in the United States, including the January 6th attack on the Capitol and assassination attempts on President Trump.
Chastain believes The Savant honours individuals who work to prevent violence and hopes the series will still reach audiences soon, despite respecting Apple's current decision.
