Jimmy Kimmel Live pulled ‘indefinitely’ over comments about Charlie Kirk
Authorities clarify initial arrest in Charlie Kirk shooting investigation
ABC has indefinitely suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! following comments made by the host regarding the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kimmel had accused the “MAGA gang” of attempting to politicize the murder and mischaracterize the killer.
Nexstar Media Group, a major broadcaster, also announced it would cease airing Kimmel's show in its ABC-affiliated markets, deeming his comments “offensive and insensitive”.
The suspension came after FCC Chair Brendan Carr, appointed by Donald Trump, threatened disciplinary action against ABC if they did not address Kimmel's conduct, which he described as “sick”.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker criticized the decision as an “attack on free speech”, while Donald Trump celebrated the show's suspension on social media.
