Austria wins Eurovision 2025 after nail-biting finish with Israel
JJ (Johannes Pietsch), a 24-year-old Austrian-Filipino artist, has won the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest representing Austria.
He previously appeared on The Voice UK in 2020, where he was mentored by will.i.am.
His winning song, "Wasted Love", is a pop-opera ballad about heartbreak.
JJ, who was born in Vienna and grew up in Dubai, says he hopes to emulate the success of Conchita Wurst, who won Eurovision for Austria in 2014.
He started singing at a young age and began performing at school and local events before writing his own songs. He says competing at Eurovision is “a huge responsibility, but also a dream come true”.
