Tributes to punk musician after death aged 69

  • Jock McDonald, the 69-year-old singer of the punk band The Bollock Brothers, has died following a freak swimming accident in Bundoran, Ireland.
  • His death was confirmed by bandmate Pat Pattyn, who expressed that McDonald's family and the band were in shock.
  • McDonald was recovered from the water near Bundoran beach by Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) volunteers on Saturday evening, 26 July, and later pronounced dead at Sligo University Hospital.
  • Born Patrick Joseph O’Donnell, McDonald formed The Bollock Brothers in 1979, achieving fame with their English-language cover of Serge Gainsbourg's Harley David (Son of a B****)
  • Tributes have been paid to McDonald, who was reportedly working on new music before his passing.
